United Future Organization – Moondance (Moon Rappin’) (Zero Corporation)

Initially a trio made of Frenchman Raphael Sebbag and Japanese-born Tadashi Yabe and Toshio Matsuura who left the band 10 years after), United Future Organization, equally known as UFO stands a a major reference in the history of Nu-Jazz as one of its pioneers.
Remembered for gems such as ‘Flying Saucer’ and ‘Tres Amigos’ among others, they made their debut back in 1992 on Japanese label Zero Corporation with the ‘Jazzin” album featuring the boiling ‘Loud Minority’, but also the mellow ‘Moondance’ delivered in two different versions including the one – (Moon Rappin’) – on a slightly smoother tip and enlightened by a vibrant vocal performance in Brazilian by the likes of Claudia E.H..
UFO got soon after signed on Gilles Peterson‘s Talkin’ Loud label and eventually followed him for some time on Brownswood…
