Louie Vega & Marc Anthony – Ride On The Rhythm

Classics: Little Louie Vega & Marc Anthony – Ride On The Rhythm (Kenlou Rhythm Mix) (Atlantic)

“Ride on the rhythm!” An invitation one could hardly resist to almost 30 years ago. And its pretty sounds the same today as a matter of fact. With thanks to its various mixes, including a firing Dub one unfortunately not available on Youtube by the time writing these lines…

The top selling Salsa artist of all time, Marc Anthony started his career as a session vocalist. This for Freestyle and Underground New York House acts such as The Latin Rascals, Ann-Marie and Todd Terry among others.

Taken from his 1991 released ‘When the Night Is Over’, ‘Ride On The Rhythm’ contributed establishing Louie Vega and Kenny Dope as top notched House producers. Featuring backing rap vocals from Doug Lazy, Baltimore famous The Basement Boys on piano, Luis Vega, Sr. on saxophone and Todd Terry on keyboards and co-production.

‘Ride On The Rhythm’… Just what it says at the end! You don’t wanna miss this, do you?

Ironically and despite his success, this would be Anthony‘s last foray into Freestyle/House before signing with RMM to start his career as a Salsero singer…
