Wilson Pickett – In The Midnight Hour (Atlantic)

With over 50 songs in the US R&B charts to his credit, Wilson Pickett‘s contribution happened to be a major point in the recognition of Soul Music. Along with ‘Land Of 1,000 Dances’, ‘Mustang Sally’, and ‘Funky Broadway’, ‘In The Midnight Hour’ stands as one of his signature cuts. Taken from the 1965 released album of the name, a song which he co-wrote with Steve Cropper at the sadly remembered Lorraine Motel in Memphis where Martin Luther King, Jr. got murdered 3 years later, in April 1968…
